Yadkin had a strong showing at the 2022 Mixed Doubles State Tournament in Asheville, NC last weekend. Mason Norman's 18+ 7.0 team battled Metro in the semifinals for a 3-0 sweep, then beat Central 2-1 in the finals to clinch the Yadkin Tournament win. Excellent play in the finals from pairs Nadia Gregory and Luke Stillson, Kim Haynes and Daniel Hege, and Annie Ressa and Mason Norman. The team will advance to represent North Carolina in the 18+ 7.0 Mixed Doubles Sectional Tournament in Rome, GA on September 30, 2022.
The Yadkin 40+ 8.0 mixed team also had a great year at the State Tournament, loosing a tough match in the semifinals. Captains Carla Fox and Hai Falor had a nice lineup against Metro, but lost to the eventual State Champs 1-2.
All Yadkin teams showed fierce competition this year, with several individual team wins and excellent play all around.
The next 2022 State Tournaments for USTA League play will be for Tri-Level in Greenville, NC and Singles in Goldsboro, NC. Good luck to all Yadkin teams competing!
